@Deborah, OMG, the last time I took Ty to a doctors appointment they had "Suite Life of Zack & Cody" on. It was some kind of marathon so I got to see a few episodes. I had never seen the show before but after watching I was thinking the EXACT same thing! That's kind of sad.

I will admit to faithfully watching the Disney channel throughout college and I had the Bugs Bunny cartoons on queue through my Netflix. Something that sucks about being an adult (when watching Disney channel) is actually noticing problems. When watching some “Suite Life of Zack and Cody” episodes it bothers me that the rich girl can do wrong all she wants but “the poor girl” can do good and get outshined. I just don’t like that message.

Cartoons today do pretty much suck. I’m mad that Power Rangers still uses pretty much the same technology as when I watched it. I guess they’re keeping it authentic. Lol.

I can’t get into anime either and I have a degree in animation. I hate when I tell people my degree and their like “Cartoons?” or “Anime?”. No…not exactly.

@Ricky, I just don't know man, anime doesn't hit home for some reason. It just seems so over the top to me.

@The Tenant, you and Ricky should get together and have an anime marathon. I just never been able to really get into it. Maybe one day the kids will enjoy it enough to point out what's so great, obviously something I'm missing.

Today’s cartoons suck, that’s why i’m straight anime now..nothing religious but Bleach and Naruto hold it down (subbed not dubbed…hate the american voices)

I agree with you on the fact that today’s cartoons suck…but I don’t agree with the fact that you think cartoonetwork programing sucks honestly CN fell off but back in the day best cartoon channel ever…you should start watching anime…I wouldn’t recommend it for the boys now but in a few years they might love it

@Father of Five, Wow, can’t believe I forgot about Popeye, my Dad and I used to watch it religiously on Sunday mornings.

I’m only 26, so most of my favs are from the early 90s, but I do have to admit that Spongebob is a pretty good show. Initially, I wrote it off as annoying, but the more Ty watched, I actually started to enjoy.

Hey, guess what. I saw you Geocaching post earlier in the week and told the wife about it, we’re gonna go try to find one today, I’m looking forward to it & will post back the results to your site.

Saturday morning Cartoons was part of my rituals as well… Flinstones, Tom & Jerry, Bugs Bunny (Loony Toons), Road Runner, Popeye, Scobby, etc…

I do not know how old you are (I’m in my 40′s) – but most of the cartoons you mentioned I watched with one of my children (spread from 21 years old to 5 years old)… I LOVED watching Dexter’s Lab with my now 14 year old, Rugrats, and Bobby’s world were pretty good too!

And of the recent cartoons (most of which are horrible) I do have to admit to a liking of Spongebob Squarepants…

Then, there are the “grown up” cartoons… Most of the shows I enjoy are cartoons… Simpsons, King of the Hill, Family Guy, and (not quite a cartoon) but Robot Chicken…
